What Happens in Vegas Ends Up on the McLaren MSO 750S

Unique MSO Project

Meet Project Viva from MSO – a custom McLaren 750S Spider, unveiled ahead of the Las Vegas Grand Prix and created around the spectacle of Sin City. First and foremost, imagine a standard 750S, and then dressed in an experiment of color and details.

Mechanics and Design

Mechanically, this supercar is identical to any other 750S, but its unique paint scheme, which McLaren calls a “sketch in motion,” distinguishes it from everything else in the lineup.

The paint combines Muriwai White with a new color called Vegas Lights. This black coating contains particles of cyan, magenta, and green, specially developed for this car to replicate the shifting glow of Las Vegas. A complex set of hand-painted elements adds layers of references related to both the city and the brand.

Secrets of the Paint

For example, Project Viva has a pair of dice immortalizing 1905 – the founding of Las Vegas, and 1963 – the founding of McLaren. On the rear bumper, there are also ten stars celebrating the firm’s ten Formula 1 Constructors’ Championships, which were applied by current Formula 1 drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri.

McLaren also added an image of the Muriwai trophy, which Bruce McLaren received on the Muriwai Hill climb in New Zealand. An image of Bruce McLaren’s 1970 racing helmet appears in the more intricate areas of the design, along with a series of neon arrows referencing Las Vegas signage.

Vegas Tribute Details

McLaren Special Operations’ attention to detail continues elsewhere. Under the rear wing, there is a sign with the inscription “Fabulous,” inspired by the familiar city welcome sign, the outline of Nevada on the right side, and a cactus motif woven into the surrounding design.

The manufacturer did not say how long it took to apply the custom paint to this 750S Spider, but there is a feeling that it took several weeks to complete.

Exhibition Place and Time

Those in Las Vegas can see the car at the McLaren Experience Center at the Wynn Las Vegas hotel from November 13 to 20.

Project Viva captures what McLaren Special Operations is all about – going beyond the ordinary to create something truly personal. It is where craft meets character, and where any inspiration can become a story told through design. Every commission we create is a synthesis of vision and craftsmanship, resulting in a car that authentically expresses the inspiration behind it. Whether born from brand history or a client’s own passion, MSO exists to transform ideas into something unique and meaningful.

McLaren Photos

This special project demonstrates how automakers can use local culture and history to create unique cars. The integration of Las Vegas symbolism together with McLaren’s historical elements creates an interesting bridge between the past and the present, between motorsport and the entertainment industry. The participation of current Formula 1 drivers in the design creation adds particular authenticity and a connection to the brand’s modern sporting achievements to the project.
