Great Wall Motor has hinted at the appearance of a new retro car, which could become the first model of the company’s sixth brand. The chief chassis engineer published teaser images of the mysterious car, which immediately caught the attention of the brand’s fans.
The photo shows a long, streamlined body with a massive chrome rear bumper, rounded shapes, and original badge styling on the rear. All this hints at a noticeable influence of 1960s–70s design, as if from the era of chrome-plated fins and elongated rear wings.

According to preliminary information, the new model does not belong to any of Great Wall’s existing sub-brands. It does not fit the style of mainstream Haval, rugged Tank, premium Wey, electric Ora, or Poer pickups. This could be a separate line and a full-fledged new brand with its own identity.
Technical specifications and the premiere date have not been revealed yet. However, the very fact of a teaser in retro aesthetics may indicate a return of fashion for classic shapes in a modern execution. Chinese automakers are increasingly boldly turning to nostalgic images, combining them with modern materials, safety systems, and electrification.

For Great Wall, this could become an important step and a move beyond familiar segments – an attempt to create a car that will conquer markets not only with technology but also with an emotional component. As with classic models of the past, the bet here is not on cold rationality, but on style, elegance, and character.
