Lexus Introduces Powerful RZ 600e F Sport Performance Version for Japanese Market
If you thought Lexus had finished updating the RZ electric crossover, you were mistaken. After its launch in Europe and North America, the updated model has finally reached Japan, accompanied by a pleasant surprise. The highlight of the lineup is the RZ 600e F Sport Performance, which combines aggressive aerodynamic bodywork, improved chassis tuning, and a significant power increase.
The new version inherits the carbon body kit from the limited-edition 2024 RZ 450e F Sport, which, in turn, was inspired by the 2023 RZ Sport concept car. This means it features a hood with ventilation holes, a front splitter, widened wheel arches with integrated aerodynamic elements, modified side sills, a prominent rear diffuser, and a two-piece rear spoiler, adding both visual expression and functional downforce.
Design and Exterior
The special version is offered in two colors: Neutrino Gray and Hakugin II. Both are combined with a black base, exposed carbon fiber accents, and blue details. The car sits on 21-inch matte black alloy wheels from Enkei. Behind them hide larger 20-inch brakes and six-piston aluminum monoblock calipers at the front. Lexus engineers have also lowered the ride height by 20 mm compared to the base RZ 550e F Sport model for this version.
The Heart of the News: Power and Dynamics
The most important change was the refinement of the two electric motors, which now develop a combined output of 420 hp (313 kW or 426 PS). This makes the RZ 600e the most powerful version in the RZ lineup to date, surpassing even the related Toyota bZ and Subaru Solterra, despite sharing a common platform.
With the additional power, the RZ 600e F Sport Performance accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.4 seconds.
The car uses the familiar 77 kWh lithium-ion battery, which provides a range of up to 525 km on a single charge.
Interior and Technology
Inside, the main focus is the yoke steering wheel, connected to the proprietary steer-by-wire system. It works in tandem with the so-called “Interactive Manual Drive” for a greater sense of connection with the road. The interior is also adorned with blue accents on the dashboard and sport seats upholstered in Alcantara, which are part of the F Sport Performance package.
Pricing and Availability
Sales of the Lexus RZ 600e F Sport Performance in Japan will begin on March 2, 2026. The price for the version in Black with Neutrino Gray will be 12,165,000 yen (approximately $78,100 at the current exchange rate), while the more expressive Black with Hakugin II paint job will cost 12,440,000 yen (about $79,900).
Interestingly, unlike the limited-edition 2024 RZ 450e F Sport Performance (only 100 units), the new 600e version will not have a production limit. The question of its availability in other markets remains open.
Update of the Entire RZ Lineup
In addition to the flagship RZ 600e F Sport Performance, Lexus has introduced updates for the entire lineup of electric crossovers, including the RZ 350e Version L, RZ 500e Version L, and RZ 550e F Sport.
All models have received more power, improved efficiency, and a revised charging system. The range now varies from 579 km to 733 km depending on the configuration. As before, the Lexus RZ is offered with front-wheel or all-wheel drive, and the battery capacity is 75 kWh or 77 kWh.
The F Sport trim, as before, stands out with a sportier design and the same yoke steering wheel paired with the steer-by-wire system.
Prices for the updated electric crossover start from 7,900,000 yen (approximately $52,000) for the front-wheel-drive RZ 350e Version L and go up to 9,500,000 yen (approximately $63,000) for the all-wheel-drive RZ 550e F Sport. Buyers can also order the optional “Performance Upgrade Boost + Interactive Manual Drive” package for 220,000 yen (about $1,500), which increases peak power and adds a simulated manual driving mode.
The appearance of the F Sport Performance version without a production limit may indicate a shift in Lexus’s strategy regarding electric models, focusing not only on environmental friendliness but also on driving pleasure and emotions. It also shows how the brand is adapting its electric platform to meet the demands of even the most demanding enthusiasts, offering them a unique driving experience thanks to steer-by-wire technology. The terms and timing for the appearance of such powerful versions in key markets like Europe or the US remain one of the main questions for fans of the brand.
