A New Concept from Genesis
The South Korean company Genesis has recently been actively presenting impressive concepts, such as the G90 Wingback, the Magma GT supercar, and the X Gran Equator. Now the brand has introduced its latest concept, which looks quite unusual.
The concept is named X Skorpio and was specifically developed as Genesis’s first extreme off-roader. It would fit perfectly into the harsh rally atmosphere of the Dakar Rally. The car premiered in the Empty Quarter desert in the UAE, where it was presented alongside prepared off-road versions of the GV60, GV70, and GV80 models.

Design and Construction
The X Skorpio concept, inspired by the black scorpion, is built around a special tubular frame with a full-fledged racing-class safety cage. It adheres to the same Two Lines design philosophy as other Genesis models: LED lines run not only across the front but also along the sides and across the rear. The body is made from a combination of fiberglass, carbon fiber, and Kevlar.

A Functional Concept
This concept is not created just for show purposes. Genesis equipped it with a powerful V8 engine that, according to claims, delivers 1100 horsepower and 1152 Nm of torque, likely thanks to an auxiliary hybrid system.
The X Skorpio concept features 18-inch beadlock wheels wrapped in 40-inch off-road tires and special brakes from Brembo. The manufacturer did not specify the vehicle’s ground clearance, but it is clearly sufficient to tackle even the most challenging sand dunes.
Interior and Purpose
A special interior was also developed for the concept. It features a real racing steering wheel with a small instrument panel, lightweight bucket seats, carbon fiber doors, an instrument panel upholstered in quilted leather, and a large number of handles trimmed in Alcantara. A large multimedia system screen is placed in front of the passenger, and on the transmission tunnel, there are 24 buttons for various vehicle functions.

Genesis states that the concept was “adapted to the automotive culture and lifestyle of the Middle East,” but provided no indication regarding the possibility of its series production.
The X Skorpio concept is an extreme off-roader created to traverse the most difficult and harsh terrain. With a tubular frame, a full safety cage, and many components taken directly from off-road endurance racing specialists, the X Skorpio concept explores another aspect of the Genesis brand and underscores our intention to bring emotion and adrenaline to various segments.
The presentation of such a radical concept in a desert environment highlights Genesis’s ambitions to go beyond the conventional understanding of luxury cars. The emphasis on extreme durability, power, and specialized equipment borrowed from the rally world indicates the brand’s desire to be associated not only with comfort but also with high technology and adrenaline. Such projects, even if they do not become series-produced, shape the company’s image as innovative and bold, capable of experimenting in various niches, from electric vehicles to desert racing off-roaders.
