Dodge Brings Its Meanest Compact Sedan South of the Border in 2026

Dodge Revives Attitude GT Green Hornet for Mexico

While sedans have lost popularity in the United States, in Mexico Dodge continues to offer the compact Attitude model. Its base version starts at 399,000 pesos, which is a little over $23,000 at the current exchange rate. This model, despite its Chinese origin, features aggressive design, and for the 2026 model year, a limited series has been introduced for it.

Exclusive Look and Limited Run

The version is called the Attitude GT Green Hornet Edition and is offered exclusively in a subdued matte green color that accentuates the car’s sharp body lines. Dodge already released this special series last year, limiting the run to 300 cars nationwide. The model’s popularity prompted Stellantis to bring it back, but now in a quantity of only 150 units.

Production has been cut to 150 units for the 2026 model year.

The exclusive paint is complemented by a black grille with matte black elements, creating a deep contrast. The sedan also comes standard with unique 18-inch satin-black alloy wheels.

Sporty Character and Dynamics

The sporty theme continues at the rear thanks to a fixed spoiler, a motorsport-inspired diffuser, and quad exhaust tips. The latter, as will become clear, promise more than they can actually deliver.

Interestingly, the starting price of the Attitude GT Green Hornet Edition for 2026 has decreased. According to Moparinsider, it is 463,900 pesos (approximately $27,000), whereas last year the model cost 488,900 pesos (about $28,500).

Power Remains Unchanged

Unfortunately, the attractive green Attitude did not receive any performance updates compared to the standard model. It retains the 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 168 horsepower and 199 lb-ft (270 Nm) of torque. Power is sent to the front wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

The turbocharged 1.5-liter engine delivers 168 hp to the front wheels.

According to Dodge, acceleration from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) takes 6.95 seconds, which is quite acceptable for this segment, even if the design hints at something more dramatic.

Why the Attitude Isn’t Sold in the USA

Stellantis does not sell the Attitude in the USA for several reasons. First, a similar sedan would likely not find demand in the current market. But more importantly, the Attitude is not a product developed in North America. Essentially, it is a rebadged version of the Chinese GAC Empow, which means import tariffs would make its sale impractical even before it hit the showroom.

The return of the limited-run Attitude GT Green Hornet for the Mexican market highlights regional differences in automotive preferences. While global trends lean towards crossovers, Mexico still has room for compact yet boldly styled sedans. The price reduction for the special edition may be an attempt to make it more accessible, despite an even more limited production run. This strategy seems designed to create a sense of exclusivity and quick sell-out, which could justify producing a model considered outdated in other regions.
