by California-based company Canepa has unveiled an updated version of the iconic Porsche Carrera GT supercar. The project is named Carrera GT SC (Sport Canepa) and combines a full-scale restoration, unique styling, and a series of technical improvements.
Exterior and Paintwork
The first example, shown at the Amelia Island Concours, is finished in a custom Liquid Metal Green color. This shade is also present on the decorative mesh in the engine bay. Additional accents include glossy black headlight surrounds and the tips of the dual exhaust system. The car retains the original five-spoke magnesium wheels, but they now feature anodized black center locks. Also notable are the carbon fiber safety bar and matte carbon fiber trim in the space under the hood.
Updated Interior
The car’s interior has been completely reworked. Standard materials have been replaced with cream-colored leather and Alcantara. The new upholstery covers most of the interior panels, as well as the front trunk. Classic accents of aluminum and carbon fiber are preserved, as is the signature wooden gearshift knob.

The cost of such a transformation is not disclosed, but Canepa is already accepting orders for similar projects.
Market Context and Similar Projects
The emergence of such a project is quite logical, as the market price of the Porsche Carrera GT continues to rise. For example, last year Porsche itself restored one example to “zero-mileage” condition. And at the Broad Arrow auction at Amelia Island, a unique Carrera GT in Gulf Blue, one of 19 such cars, was sold for a record $6.7 million. Standard cars already cost from $3 to $3.5 million, which firmly cements the model among the most desirable in the brand’s history.
Alongside the Carrera GT, another unique project based on a Rubystone Red Porsche 959 SC was presented on the Canepa stand at Amelia Island. This car also underwent a deep modernization, receiving new electronics, a modern audio system, an updated suspension, and an engine whose power increased to 850 horsepower.
The history of the Porsche Carrera GT reminds us that true automotive legends not only do not age but also acquire new qualities in the hands of enthusiasts.
