This $18,200 Package Turns Your Audi A6 into a 422-HP Alternative to the S6

ABT Sportsline turns the Audi A6 eHybrid into a powerful S6 alternative

Since Audi decided not to release a gasoline version of the S6 in the current generation, reserving that name exclusively for the electric S6 e-tron, ABT Sportsline has filled the gap. It offers an upgrade package that transforms the hybrid A6 into the closest alternative to a real S6 available today.

Technical Specifications and Power

This electrified version is based on the A6 eHybrid Quattro S Tronic model. Its hybrid powertrain combines a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with a single electric motor and a 14.1 kWh battery pack. Thanks to this, the all-electric range according to the WLTP cycle reaches up to 69 miles (111 km).

Thanks to the ABT Power module, the total output of the hybrid system increases from 362 hp (270 kW / 367 PS) and 500 Nm of torque to a more substantial 422 hp (315 kW / 428 PS) and 550 Nm (406 lb-ft). Drive is all-wheel drive, via a seven-speed S Tronic dual-clutch transmission and the Quattro system.

These figures still fall short of the 444 hp (331 kW / 450 PS) and 600 Nm (443 lb-ft) produced by the old twin-turbo 2.9-liter V6 S6, but they make the hybrid significantly more attractive. ABT also claims this is the most powerful version of the C9 generation to date, surpassing the 362 hp (270 kW / 367 PS) of the US version with its turbocharged 3.0-liter V6.

Exterior Design and Chassis

The improved performance is complemented by a set of lowering springs that enhance handling and give the sedan a sportier look. Visually, the tuner from Kempten offers a subtle body kit, which includes a sharper front splitter and a rear spoiler with floating fins, finished in gloss black. Customers can also order a set of 21-inch ABT Sport HR21 alloy wheels with performance tires.

At the rear, matte black twin stainless steel exhaust tips are installed, reminiscent of the Audi Sport style. Interior updates are limited to floor mats with the ABT logo and projection lamps.

Package Price

If you want ABT to make your A6 eHybrid more powerful and aggressive, the full package, including the body kit, wheels, lowering springs, and the power module, will cost €15,500 ($18,200). Buyers can also purchase individual components: the power upgrade is priced at €2,990 ($3,500), and the complete wheel and tire set costs €7,600 ($8,900).

The A6 eHybrid Avant itself starts at €77,550 ($90,800) in Germany before any ABT equipment is installed. The tuner offers the same upgrade for the Sedan version as well as for the less powerful PHEV variant.

This package from ABT Sportsline is a prime example of how tuning shops fill the niches left by automakers. In a situation where Audi has abandoned the gasoline S6, ABT offers not just a set of cosmetic changes, but a comprehensive solution that significantly boosts the hybrid’s performance. Although the power is still slightly below the previous generation S6, the improvements in dynamics and handling make this version very appealing for those seeking a balance between efficiency and a sporty character. It is worth noting that the package price is significant, but it reflects the quality of the components and engineering work that allows turning an ordinary hybrid sedan into a true sports car.
