Ineos Seeks Defender-Level Value for the Most Luxurious Grenadier Ever Built

New Ineos Grenadier Version: Trailmaster X

Ineos has combined elements of the two most popular Grenadier trims into a new version called the Trailmaster X. The goal is to offer buyers the most rugged and capable off-road SUV without sacrificing luxury.

Technical Equipment and Features

Available in both the Grenadier SUV and Quartermaster pickup versions, the Trailmaster X comes with front and rear differential locks. The vehicle sits on 17-inch wheels with BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/A KO3 tires. Additionally, it features a snorkel, safari windows, tinted glass, and a locked cargo compartment integrated into the spare tire carrier.

Special features don’t end there. For example, Ineos added a 5.5-tonne front winch and installed a tow hitch as standard equipment. The Trailmaster X can also be configured with a fuel filter and a diesel water separator for markets with poor fuel quality. It can be adorned with a contrasting roof in Inky Black or Scottish White colors.

The rest of the body can be painted in Scottish White, Devil Red, Donny Grey, or Magic Mushroom, which sounds particularly appealing. Distinctive Trailmaster X badges also set the new edition apart.

Luxurious and Rugged Interior

Ineos Wants Defender Money For The Plushest Grenadier It Has Ever Built

Inside, buyers will find two-tone grey and black leather upholstery, heated front seats, a premium audio system, and carpeted floor mats.

“Three years after launch, we continue to evolve the Grenadier family, broadening its appeal in response to customer feedback,” said Ineos Automotive CEO Lynn Calder. “Building on the significant enhancements introduced for the 2026 model year, the Trialmaster X represents the pinnacle of versatility. The perfect combination of off-road toughness, premium everyday comfort, and a fearless spirit.”

Pricing and Availability

In the UK, prices for the Trailmaster X start from £75,195 ($101,800) for the SUV and £75,010 ($101,500) for the Quartermaster pickup. This makes the Trailmaster X approximately £12,000 more expensive than the base Defender 110, which starts from £62,915, but still cheaper than the £84,240 Defender 130. Ineos has yet to announce launch plans for this trim in other markets.

The new Trailmaster X version demonstrates Ineos’s strategy of expanding the Grenadier lineup, offering buyers a compromise between extreme off-road capability and comfort. It is worth noting that the model’s price approaches the level of competitors from Land Rover, highlighting the brand’s ambitions to occupy the premium SUV niche. At the same time, the availability of options like fuel filters indicates a focus on operation in challenging conditions, which could be a key advantage for professional users.
