Dodge stalls the Charger scent for guys stuck in the past

Dodge releases Charger perfume: a scent for those who ‘peaked’ years ago

Just a few days after Stellantis found itself in a scandal over an attempt to sell questionable goods supposedly created with AI without proper oversight, the company surprises again. This time — with a new Dodge Charger fragrance. As pundits ironically note, it probably smells like a person whose best years are behind them.

Official description: ‘masculine power’ and ‘turbo boost’

Dodge, of course, presents it differently. They call the $24.95 perfume ‘the perfect Father’s Day gift’ that unleashes ‘true masculinity and turbocharged power, just like the Charger Sixpack.’ The company claims it is ‘a bold, uncompromising scent created to leave an unforgettable impression.’

‘This is not just a smell, it’s an attack on your senses. Parking attendants will start tipping you,’ the company’s commercial says.

Fragrance composition: from bergamot to ambergris

Despite the loud advertising, the product appears to be real. According to the description, the perfume has base notes of cedar, patchouli, and ambergris. Middle notes include black pepper, clary sage, and jasmine, while top notes are bergamot, mandarin, and orange. A fairly rich bouquet, but what else would you expect from a company that imitates an engine sound in the electric Charger Daytona?

Not just perfume: a patriotic t-shirt with a mistake

In addition to the cologne, Dodge offers a ‘Patriotic American Muscle T-shirt’ for $29.95. It features an old Challenger, manufactured in Canada, set against the American flag. Except the flag only has 12 stripes instead of the proper 13. A minor mistake, but as noted, at least they didn’t accidentally put an AI-generated GR86 on it.

Overall, this campaign looks like yet another attempt by Stellantis to monetize nostalgia and the image of ‘masculinity’ using loud slogans and questionable execution. It is worth noting that such marketing moves often provoke more ridicule than genuine interest, especially against the backdrop of the company’s recent AI scandals. Whether this fragrance will become a hit or just another curiosity — time will tell, but it is already clear that Dodge is not afraid to experiment, even if it looks somewhat absurd.
