Jeep Unveils the New 2027 Wrangler Laredo
Jeep continues its “Twelve 4 Twelve” campaign by introducing a new version of the Wrangler called the Laredo. This model revives the iconic 1980s trim, inspired by a Texas border town and the American Southwest.
Technical Features and Design
Previously previewed as a concept, the production Wrangler Laredo is based on the Wrangler Willys with the Xtreme 35 Package. This means it is a true off-roader with a 1-inch lift, bronze 17-inch wheels capable of beadlock operation, and 35-inch BFGoodrich KO2 tires.
Buyers will also receive a Gobi-colored grille, Laredo hood decals, and brown graphic stripes on the body. These are complemented by bronze tow hooks and a lasso-style “4WD” logo on the rear.
Interior and Equipment
Continuing the brown theme, the company brings back a classic tan soft top. This is an interesting touch, but customers can also order a black hardtop or a Sky One-touch power top.
The cabin impresses with luxury: front seats in Bison Brown Nappa leather feature heating and power adjustment. They are complemented by Mayan Gold contrast stitching, Global Black accents, and a special badge on the center console. Jeep also noted that “a subtle cowboy hat motif has appeared on the instrument panel.”
Price and Availability
Orders will open later this month, and the Laredo will cost $1,995 more than the Wrangler Willys with the Xtreme 35 Package. The Jeep configurator currently only shows 2026 models, and the mentioned version starts at $49,250 excluding a $1,995 destination fee.
Thus, fans will have to spend around $53,240 for the two-door special edition and $55,620 for the four-door variant. It is also worth noting that the Xtreme 35 Package appears to be offered exclusively with an eight-speed automatic transmission, leaving manual transmission enthusiasts out in the cold.
This new model demonstrates how Jeep skillfully blends nostalgia for classic models with modern technology and off-road capabilities. The revival of the Laredo name, once a base trim, now becomes a premium special edition with a unique style. With a price tag exceeding $53,000, it becomes a fairly niche product, but for true brand enthusiasts who value individuality and off-road readiness, it could be an intriguing proposition. The combination of a luxurious leather interior with aggressive 35-inch tires and a lifted suspension looks particularly appealing.
