Aston Martin pushes Vantage to the maximum by introducing a hardcore version

New hardcore Aston Martin Vantage: what is known about the RS version

Aston Martin is actively working on creating an extreme version of its Vantage sports car, which will likely be called RS. The latest spy photos taken at the Nürburgring track show a prototype more prepared for series production.

Exterior changes and aerodynamics

Two months ago, spies captured a prototype with eight exhaust tips, which generated significant interest. However, the production version turned out to be less radical. The new prototype has a slightly modified rear section with four exhaust pipes that have moved from the outer edges to the center of the car. The diffuser has also been refined, and the large rear wing looks very serious.

At the front, a wide radiator grille can be seen, complemented by updated air curtains. The model also features a more pronounced carbon fiber front splitter than the Vantage and Vantage S versions.

Wheels, brakes, and interior

Other changes are limited, but the car is equipped with excellent 21-inch wheels fitted with Pirelli P Zero R tires. They are complemented by a powerful braking system with larger front calipers.

Spies managed to glimpse the interior only for a few moments, but a familiar cabin can be expected with a 10.25-inch digital instrument panel and a similarly sized infotainment screen. They will likely be complemented by lightweight sports seats, carbon fiber inserts, and special accents.

Powertrain and name

Details of the powertrain remain a mystery, but there is no doubt that the new model will surpass the Vantage S. The latter is equipped with a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine producing 670 hp (500 kW) and 800 Nm of torque. It is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, allowing the coupe to accelerate to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds and reach a top speed of 325 km/h.

The car’s name is also being discussed, but it could be called Vantage AMR or RS. The official unveiling is expected to take place in 2027.

This news indicates that Aston Martin is not going to rest on its laurels and continues to expand the Vantage lineup, offering increasingly powerful and technologically advanced versions. The appearance of an RS or AMR version would be a logical step in competing with rivals such as the Porsche 911 GT3 RS or the Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series. Considering that the regular Vantage S is already a very fast car, the new extreme modification promises to be a true track tool, focused on maximum performance and sharp driving thrills. All that remains is to wait for the official technical specifications and price, which will undoubtedly be impressive.
