Dodge didn’t sell you a motorcycle with a Viper V10 engine, but this guy is ready

A unique motorcycle with a V10 engine from the Dodge Viper, created by British engineer-enthusiast Allen Milliard, is being put up for auction. This bike, which reaches over 330 km/h and holds an official Guinness World Record, is fully road-legal for public roads.

Record-breaking bike with a Dodge Viper engine

Building a motorcycle around a giant V10 engine from the Dodge Viper is already a major achievement. Dodge proved it was possible by creating the Tomahawk concept in the early 2000s. However, making such an engine road-legal, riding it over 14,500 km, and accelerating to 322 km/h is a completely different level.

Allen Milliard did all this with his unique Viper V10, and then even set a Guinness World Record. Now this motorcycle is finally going to auction.

Auction details and value estimate

This incredible motorcycle will be sold at the H&H Classics auction on July 22. Its estimated value is between £100,000 and £150,000 (approximately $135,000 to $202,000 at the current exchange rate). Given the bike’s reputation and the cult following surrounding Milliard over the past two decades, it would not be surprising if bidding exceeds expectations.

From a spare engine to an auction star

The motorcycle’s story began in 2004 when Milliard purchased a used 8.0-liter V10 engine from a Dodge Viper. Instead of simply mounting it in an oversized frame, he spent five years on engineering refinement, creating a machine that looks remarkably close to a factory build. This became Milliard’s signature style — creating extravagant custom bikes that look as if they came off an assembly line from a well-known manufacturer.

The finished motorcycle produces around 500 horsepower (373 kW) and 712 Nm of torque. Tubular steel and aluminum subframes mount directly to the engine, with a single-sided swingarm attached to the transmission. Up front, custom forks are fitted using 75-millimeter hydraulic cylinders from a JCB loader. Internal components from a Vauxhall Carlton, Hagon springs, and modified Yamaha R1 shock absorbers help tame the immense power.

Built for hard riding

Milliard did not build this motorcycle as a static exhibit. After completion in 2009, Motorcycle News test rider Bruce Dunn accelerated it to 333 km/h during tests at the Bruntingthorpe track. According to the lot description, this run was not even performed at full throttle. Even more impressive is how much the motorcycle has actually been ridden.

Milliard has put over 14,500 km on it, including trips to Guernsey, the Isle of Wight, and even laps around the Isle of Man TT course. In 2023, this V10 bike made it back into the record books. Together with TV presenter Henry Cole on the passenger seat, the duo reached a speed of 295 km/h, setting a Guinness World Record for the fastest motorcycle with a passenger, surpassing the previous achievement by nearly 8 km/h.

Dodge showed the Tomahawk concept with a V10 engine, but it never went into production, no matter how much people wanted it. Now Milliard’s creation gives that experience to whoever makes the winning bid.

This motorcycle is not just a technical curiosity, but a true testament to engineering skill and perseverance. It combines immense power, daily riding practicality, and world records. The sale of such a unique example will undoubtedly attract the attention of collectors and enthusiasts from around the world, as it is a chance to own a piece of motorcycle history that is likely never to be repeated.
