Dodge introduces the 2027 Charger, essentially asks not to buy the electric vehicle

Dodge has announced a series of updates for the 2027 Charger lineup. Changes for the Daytona Scat Pack version had already been announced earlier, and now details for the entire lineup have been revealed. The key innovations include 25 new personalization options and the introduction of a native NACS port for the electric vehicle.

Exterior updates and new colors

For models with an internal combustion engine, a new hood painted in satin black is now available. Also, new double stripes have appeared in Satin White, Satin Black, and Gloss Red colors. The selection of graphic elements has expanded, including ‘Charger’ stripes and strobe stripes in the aforementioned colors.

Other exterior updates include a new accessory sun visor for the glass roof from Mopar. Buyers will also be able to order a Brembo braking system with orange or black calipers.

Interior and seats

One of the most interesting changes inside is the new Petrol Blue leather sports seats for Scat Pack models. They feature ‘Digital Slash’ perforation and red contrast stitching, setting them apart from the usual black or red options. Additionally, all Chargers can be equipped with new Demonic Red seat belts, adding a bright accent to the cabin.

Prices and trims

The starting price for the 2027 Dodge Charger remains at last year’s level – $49,995. However, the cost of the electric Charger Daytona Scat Pack version has increased to $72,495, which is $12,500 more. According to experts, this significant price increase may be an attempt to curb sales of the electric vehicle, which are going slowly.

Dodge has already started taking orders for the 2027 Charger, with the first cars arriving at dealers in the third quarter. It is worth noting that, despite the significant price increase for the electric version, the company continues to offer a wide selection of gasoline modifications, which remain more affordable and, likely, more popular among buyers. This indicates that Dodge is trying to balance its lineup, responding to current market demand, where electric vehicles face certain challenges, while traditional internal combustion engines still have a strong position.
