The new Cabinet of Ministers’ decree will come into effect as early as next week. Those who have unpaid fines or alimony debts will not be able to deregister or reregister their car.
Does this mean that if you didn’t pay a fine for traffic violations a month ago, you won’t be able to sell your car? Not quite. In this case, it is mostly about persistent non-payers pursued by the enforcement service (the register contains information about individuals who have arrears in periodic payments for more than three months, including alimony).
“In the case of information about a person in the Unified Debtors Registry, the reregistration, deregistration of a vehicle is not conducted,” — the document states.
Such debtors will not be able to conduct any registration operations with cars, motorcycles, and other vehicles starting from August 28. As of the same date, by the way, when purchasing a new car, the buyer will also be checked. However, even if the buyer is a debtor, no sanctions will be applied to him.
Let us remind you that recently a Ukrainian had a rare Ferrari seized for alimony debts.
