Chevrolet Electric Vehicles Reach Two Important Milestones, and Musk Won’t Like It

Record Range for the Chevrolet Silverado EV on a Single Charge

The 2026 Chevrolet Silverado EV set a new record, covering 1059.2 miles (1704.6 km) on a single charge. This significantly exceeds the previous record set by the Lucid Air Grand Touring, which traveled 748.8 miles (1205 km).

However, it is worth considering that the test was conducted under ideal conditions: drivers changed every hour, speed did not exceed 20-25 mph, and the air conditioning was turned off. Additionally, the spare tire was removed, wheel alignment was optimized, and a special fairing was installed to improve aerodynamics.

“This is an impressive result, but under real-world operating conditions, the figures will be lower,” experts note.

Success of the Chevrolet Equinox EV in the Market

In July, General Motors reported record electric vehicle sales – over 19,000 units, which is 115% more than a year ago. The Equinox EV model performed particularly well, accounting for almost half of the total sales volume.

According to company representatives, the growth in demand is partly related to the upcoming end of the federal tax credit for purchasing electric vehicles in the USA. After the program ends, sales dynamics may change significantly.

The electric vehicle market continues to develop rapidly, but records like the Silverado EV’s demonstrate technical potential rather than real capabilities for ordinary users. At the same time, the success of the Equinox EV indicates the growing popularity of affordable models among mass consumers.
