by Ford Recalls Three Broncos Due to Suspension Issues
Ford Motor Company has announced a new recall, this time concerning three Bronco vehicles from the 2024-2025 model years. The reason is the improper fastening of the front suspension mounts, which could lead to its detachment while driving. Owners of these vehicles have been recommended to immediately cease operation of the cars and send them in for repair.
As reported by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the problem lies with the front lower suspension arm mounts. If they are not tightened sufficiently, it could lead to serious consequences.
“This is something you definitely do not want to happen while driving,” the message states.
How the Problem Was Discovered
The incident became known after a customer complaint about a loud clunk when turning the steering wheel to the full lock. During an inspection, the dealer discovered that all four mounting nuts were loose. After analyzing production data, Ford found four more vehicles with a similar problem, one of which had already been repaired. Thus, the recall concerns only three Broncos.
The company is covering the costs of towing the vehicles to service centers and is also providing customers with temporary vehicles for the duration of the repair. No accidents or injuries related to this defect have been reported so far.
This is the second recall of Broncos in recent weeks concerning suspension mounts. The previous case was related to the upper arms and steering knuckles. Such situations demonstrate how modern manufacturing technologies allow for more precise detection of potential problems and their prompt elimination, minimizing risks for drivers.
