Only 99 of these cars will be produced, and despite their Chinese “roots,” production will take place in Italy (although for the local market – in the Chinese province of Jilin). The model is named Hongqi S9, and its main competitors in the hypercar world are such “monsters” as Bugatti Chiron and Koenigsegg Jesko.

The Chinese creation for the wealthy is the result of a joint venture, Silk-FAW Automotive, launched by Silk EV and the local auto giant FAW. Recall, the release of the Hongqi S9 was discussed three years ago, but the serial version has only just been presented by the Chinese. By the way, the final design was worked on by Walter de Silva himself, who previously designed for Alfa Romeo, SEAT, and Audi.

Regarding the technical components, according to the official specifications, the hypercar has a hybrid powertrain consisting of a gasoline twin-turbo V8 and electric motors. The total power is 1400 hp. The maximum speed exceeds 400 km/h, and it takes only 1.9 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h.
The first cars will be delivered to customers in 2022, and the Hongqi S9 can be purchased for one and a half million dollars.
