Luxurious Yangwang U8 L: even more space and exclusivity

The Chinese brand Yangwang has introduced an extended version of its premium SUV, the U8. The new U8 L model features:

The all-wheel-drive U8 L retains all the signature features of the base model, including the ability to perform a tank turn and move through water.

Exterior and Interior

Externally, the U8 L is distinguished by gold-accented logos, new 23-inch wheels with floating center caps, and the absence of a rear spare tire. The manufacturer has not yet revealed details about the interior but emphasizes its increased space and premium execution.

Chinese publication Autohome reports that the U8 L retains the same powertrain as the standard model: four electric motors, a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine-generator, and a 49.05 kWh battery.

Technical Features

The system output is 1,180 hp, with torque reaching 1,280 N·m. The manufacturer plans to begin production of the U8 L by the end of 2023. The estimated price is around 1.5 million yuan (over $200,000).

For comparison, the Rolls-Royce Cullinan starts at $400,000 in the U.S. In the context of the premium segment, the U8 L presents an intriguing alternative, especially considering its unique technical capabilities and exclusive design. The manufacturer clearly targets buyers looking for more than just a luxury SUV.
