A 2000s Tuning Legend Returns to Ukrainian Roads

In the early 2000s, a variety of tuning projects could be seen on the roads of Ukraine, which were considered really cool at the time. Now, however, some of these cars that have survived to these days, on the contrary, seem not very successful. Examples include several cars that TopZhyr has already talked about. Namely: a modified Lamborghini Diablo and a tuned Honda CRX, which is currently being reverted. As for this BMW, in the 2000s it was written about in magazines and automotive media, then it disappeared from view, and recently it was spotted again on the roads.

The video of the forgotten tuning star was posted by Anatoliy Burbeza, president of BMW Club Ukraine. The BMW 318is Coupe in the E36 body with UFO numbers once seemed like a UFO on wheels. Now, many may rhetorically ask – why? Nonetheless, this car can be considered a vivid representative of 2000s tuning, clearly showing how cool cars looked in the era of the first ‘Fast & Furious.’

This film, by the way, had a strong influence on the concept of ‘tuning’ and led to the appearance of trendy modifications in Ukraine, such as undercarriage lighting, direct exhaust, etc. A separate topic is aerodynamic body kits and spoilers, preferably custom designed and ordered.

Back then, this was truly fashionable and flashy.

Regarding this BMW, it was created by the efforts of specialists from the Kyiv tuning company Hall-Mark. A 3-liter engine was installed on the ‘3-series’, the exhaust was changed, a body kit was made and in total, about 30 thousand dollars were invested over a year and a half.

And also pay attention to the mirrors in these photos. Do you see them?

Oh, they replaced them with rearview cameras a little later.

Can you imagine the level of coolness for the 2000s? What else is there to say – welcome back…

P.S. As a bonus – a few more bright examples of tuning from those years. It can be said more – this was clear Ukrainian-style tuning.
