Mercedes Vision Iconic Concept Style in the Future S-Class
When an automaker presents a concept car that captures attention, digital artists immediately begin experimenting, transferring its design to other models in the lineup. The Mercedes Vision Iconic was no exception.
Digital artist Sugar Design created a visualization showing what the next generation S-Class might look like, inspired by the coupe concept. The result looks convincing, but such a car is still far from production.
Since many believe the Vision Iconic could become the basis for the future S-Class Coupe, this work holds certain value.
Design Inspired by the Concept
In Sugar Design’s version, the S-Class received an illuminated grille, aggressive headlights, and air intakes from the Vision Iconic, integrated into the sedan’s silhouette. The car’s profile features clean lines with pronounced wheel arches framing the seven-spoke wheels.

The rear end resembles a grand tourer with smooth curves, an aerodynamic roofline, slim LED taillights, and a diffuser. Overall, it’s a modern luxury sedan that could be a Maybach with different emblems and two-tone paint.
The interior remains a matter of speculation, but one can imagine a softer version of the concept’s art deco interior, combining quality materials and cutting-edge technology.
Plans for the S-Class
The current W223 S-Class generation debuted in 2020, with an update planned for 2026. This means a completely new model will appear closer to the end of the decade.
Previous spy photos suggest the facelifted S-Class won’t undergo radical changes. Mercedes designers will focus on updating the lighting elements and bumpers, preserving the main body lines.
Given that the GLC EV received an illuminated grille during development, the S-Class will likely receive similar updates. Interior changes are expected, including a yoke-style steering wheel and enhanced autonomous driving features.
Mercedes Vision Iconic Concept
The Vision Iconic style will most likely influence future S-Class models and other Mercedes flagships of the 2030s. The positive reaction to the concept will only strengthen this trend.
Mercedes has already confirmed that the next S-Class will offer both internal combustion engines and electric drive, meaning the unpopular EQS will be discontinued. Competition may also decrease, as the Audi A8 and Lexus LS are likely to disappear or transform.
The main European competitor will remain the updated BMW 7-Series / i7, but Chinese luxury sedans are also vying for market share. The elegant design of the Vision Iconic and technological innovations could help Mercedes maintain leadership in the segment.
Despite BMW preparing a Neue Klasse version of the 7-Series, and Chinese manufacturers actively developing their models, Mercedes has every chance to remain at the top thanks to the combination of style and technology. The brand’s future flagships are expected to be focused on sustainability and digital solutions, meeting modern market demands.
