Unexpected TV Commercial Reveals New Toyota GR GT Supercar

New Toyota GR GT Supercar

Toyota Gazoo Racing is preparing to debut its first supercar on December 5th, which will become the spiritual successor to the Lexus LFA. Japanese viewers saw a detailed teaser where the new powerful car with a V8 engine was shown alongside its predecessors.

Design and Style

The model’s design reflects the 2022 GR GT3 concept with elements inspired by the Lexus LFA and aggressive aerodynamics. The car features distinctive LED headlights similar to the Toyota GR86, a thin radiator grille, large air intakes, and a long hood with pronounced contours.

Technical Features

The rear of the car is equipped with full-size LED lights integrated into large-scale outlets, similar to the concept. Although the exhaust pipes are not visible, spy shots suggest they will be built into the diffuser. Also noticeable are the coupe glass, wide shoulders, and an integrated spoiler.

Interior and Comfort

The supercar’s interior was presented at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in June. The cabin impresses with a combination of red leather and Alcantara with aluminum accents. Two carbon fiber seats with enhanced support are used, along with a modern center console featuring a large touchscreen and physical buttons.

Engine and Performance

It has been officially confirmed that the new GR GT will receive a new twin-turbo V8 engine. Although it won’t produce the same sound as the naturally aspirated V10 in the Lexus LFA, it is expected to be part of a powerful hybrid system. Reports indicate that the new V8 will be able to generate over 800 horsepower, using the same basic architecture as Toyota’s future turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine.

Prospects and Availability

Full information about the Toyota GR GT will be presented on Friday, December 5th. The manufacturer has not disclosed details regarding availability, but judging by the recent teaser, there is a high probability that the car will be sold in North America. The supercar will become the flagship in the performance car lineup, positioned above the GR Yaris, GR Corolla, GR86, GR Supra, and the upcoming GR Celica.

The teaser published by Lexus News on Instagram showcases an exterior that fully matches early spy shots. The license plate indicates that the supercar will be named Toyota GR GT, which is a somewhat simplified evolution of the 2022 GR GT3 concept.

This project demonstrates how Toyota is returning to creating true supercars, combining modern technology with classic features. Comparisons with the LFA and 2000GT highlight the historical heritage, and the use of a hybrid powertrain reflects the general trend in the automotive industry towards finding a balance between power and environmental friendliness.
