Nissan will close the plant in Russia and supported Ukraine

The company Nissan, like many automakers, is leaving the Russian market and has decided to support Ukraine. A fund to assist our country has even been created.

Nissan has already stopped shipping cars to the aggressor country and will halt operations at the plant in Saint Petersburg in a few days, where Nissan Qashqai, X-Trail, and Murano crossovers are assembled.

2.5 million euros have already been donated to the Nissan Cares support fund for Ukraine. Of this, a million will be directed to the Red Cross and other non-profit organizations helping Ukrainians. Also, Nissan is ready to donate cars to them.

Another one and a half million will go to help Nissan employees in Ukraine and their families. Nissan employees can join the initiative and donate funds, food, or clothing to the fund.

Nissan CEO Makoto Uchida stated: “We have all been deeply moved by the suffering of so many people and families, including members of our own Nissan family. We created the Nissan Cares fund to support our employees, as well as international efforts to overcome the consequences of this enormous tragedy of the Ukrainian people.”
