New electric Mazda has revealed all its secrets

New Mazda EZ-60 electric crossover

Mazda has introduced its fully electric EZ-60 crossover, which features a lithium-phosphate battery and a power output of 255 hp. According to China’s Ministry of Industry, the car can travel up to 373 miles (600 km) under the CLTC standard. The model’s design is almost identical to the hybrid version: a closed radiator grille, digital mirrors, and plastic body claddings.

According to the manufacturer,

the crossover will have advanced equipment, including a 3D projection display, a 26.45-inch screen, artificial intelligence for the assistant, and a 23-speaker audio system.

Additionally, the front seats will feature a massage function with eight modes. Drivers will also appreciate the nearly ideal weight distribution between the axles — 47:53.

Pre-orders and market prospects

Within the first month alone, Mazda received over 18,000 pre-orders for the EZ-60, indicating high interest in the model. However, it is worth noting that the reservation deposit was only $1.39, so actual sales may differ. For comparison, the rear-wheel-drive Tesla Model Y offers a range of 368 miles under the same Chinese testing cycle.

Despite limited information on technical details, Mazda is betting on comfort and technological innovation. This could become a key advantage in the competitive battle with other electric crossovers, especially in a demanding market like China. Given the growing popularity of electric vehicles, the success of the EZ-60 could define the brand’s future strategy in this segment.
