i4 Lineup Updates
BMW introduced the updated i4 lineup earlier this year, and now the company has announced specifications for the American market. These updates are noteworthy as customers will get more power and increased range.
Starting with the base i4 eDrive40 model, the car received more efficient SiC inverters from the i5 model. Thanks to this change, the car offers up to 333 miles (536 km) of range when equipped with 18-inch wheels. This is 15 miles (24 km) more than the previous version.
It is worth noting that installing 19-inch wheels slightly reduces the range to 307 miles (494 km). However, this is still 12 miles (19 km) more than last year’s model.
New i4 M60 Model
The i4 M50 model has given way to the new i4 M60, which received not only more power but also new SiC inverters. In terms of performance, the car now develops 510 hp (380 kW / 517 PS) at launch. This is a significant increase of 41 hp (31 kW / 42 PS).
When selecting the My Modes Sport mode, power increases to an impressive 593 hp (442 kW / 601 PS). This is 57 hp (43 kW / 58 PS) more than before, and it means the car can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph (0-96 km/h) in just 3.6 seconds. For comparison, this is half a second faster than the standard M3, and almost as fast as the M3 Competition xDrive.

In addition to the extra power, the model has become more efficient than its predecessor. The M60 version with 19-inch wheels has a range of 278 miles (447 km). With 20-inch wheels, the model achieves approximately 232 miles (373 km) of range. This is an improvement of 11 miles (18 km) and 5 miles (8 km) respectively.
Additional Updates
Besides the increased range and performance, a number of other minor updates have been made. All models now come with a Seal & Drive tire repair kit, and a trip recording function has been added to the Parking Assistant Professional package. Customers can also get optional glass control elements for all i4 models.
As for the exterior appearance, there are no significant changes. However, black mirror caps and M Sport brakes with blue calipers are now included in the Shadowline package for i4 eDrive40 and xDrive40 models. These elements are also available as separate options.

Pricing and Availability
Production of the 2026 BMW i4 will begin in November, with a starting price of $57,900 for the i4 eDrive40. The i4 xDrive40 model will cost $62,300, while the top i4 M60 version will start from $70,700.
These updates demonstrate how BMW continues to refine its electric vehicles, making them not only more powerful but also more efficient. The increased range and performance make the i4 even more attractive for those seeking a combination of dynamics and practicality in an electric car. Given the competition in the electric vehicle market, such improvements could be decisive for many buyers.
