Jeep unveiled the first teaser of the new Cherokee Trailhawk
Following the presentation of the 2027 Grand Cherokee Trailhawk, Jeep has released the first teaser image of the upcoming Cherokee Trailhawk. This is an off-road version that promises genuine off-road capabilities.
Design features and off-road equipment
Jeep is not revealing many details yet, but the teaser image indicates that the model will feature a gray front panel and a unique front bumper. The latter includes red tow hooks, body-colored accents, and a more aggressive design. An improved approach angle can also be expected.
Review: 2026 Cherokee stopped pretending to be a real Jeep and became better to drive
The Grand Cherokee Trailhawk gives plenty of hints about what to expect from the new model. It features a matte black hood decal, steel underbody skid plates, and 18-inch wheels shod in off-road tires. The model is also equipped with the TrailCam system, which acts as a virtual spotter.
Interior and powertrain
The updates also extend to the interior: the Grand Cherokee Trailhawk features Global Black Nappa leather seats with red contrast stitching. However, the Cherokee will likely be limited to Capri synthetic leather.
Under the hood, it will most likely feature a familiar hybrid powertrain consisting of a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine, two electric motors, a CVT, and a 1.08 kWh lithium-ion battery. This setup provides the crossover with a total output of 210 hp (157 kW / 213 PS) and 312 Nm of torque, as well as fuel economy of 39 mpg city, 35 highway, and 37 combined.
All-wheel drive is standard for the regular Cherokee, but the Trailhawk will likely get an enhanced system with a Trail Rated rating. A low-range gear is also expected.
Thus, the new Cherokee Trailhawk has every chance of becoming a worthy successor in Jeep’s line of off-road versions. The use of proven hybrid technology combined with reinforced protection and improved body geometry will allow it to compete with other models in the segment, offering drivers a true off-road experience without sacrificing efficiency in urban conditions. It remains to wait for the official presentation to learn all the technical details and the final price.
