New Moskvich turned out to be a cheap Chinese electric car (photo) en

More information has emerged about the revived Moskvich. As expected, there is no talk of any independent Russian development – they want to produce a budget Chinese electric car.

To be more precise, we are talking about the JAC Sehol E10X. It turned out that Moscow authorities, who now own the former Renault plant, are negotiating with JAC. Moreover, the Sehol E10X was brought to Kamaz, and this enterprise is acting as a partner in the revival of Moskvich.

Actually, the project can only be realized with the Chinese, as other countries have supported sanctions against Russia. Although this is not an ideal option.

The fact is that the JAC Sehol E10X is, to put it mildly, a very budget-friendly electric car. In China, its price is equivalent to $7,000-11,500. The car is small – 3.6 m long and 1.67 m wide. The interior is designed for four, and there is almost no trunk.

The basic configuration includes air conditioning, ABS, and one airbag, although the top versions also have a touchscreen, cruise control, and ESP.

The JAC Sehol E10X is offered with motors of 41 and 61 hp, but in both versions, the top speed is limited to 102 km/h. So you can’t really drive on the highway. Although, you won’t go far in the electric car anyway due to the limited range. Three battery options are offered:

  • 15 kWh – range of 150 km
  • 20 kWh – range of 200 km
  • 30 kWh – range of 300 km

The stated figures are according to the least accurate NEDC cycle, meaning that in real conditions, the range is noticeably less.
By the way, JAC has cheaper and better electric cars in the lineup – verified by TopGir.
