After an unsuccessful attempt to gain a foothold in America, VinFast targets Rolls-Royce customers

VinFast Introduces Two New Flagship Electric Vehicles

Vietnamese automaker VinFast, despite challenges in the US market, continues to ambitiously expand its lineup. The company has announced two new ultra-luxury models — the 800S crossover and the 900S sedan, which will join the high-end Lac Hong segment. These cars, scheduled for release in 2027, are positioned as competitors to the Rolls-Royce Cullinan and Mercedes-Maybach S-Class.

Design Inspired by Luxury and Vietnamese Symbolism

The new models feature a massive grille with vertical slats, its design inspired by Vietnamese bamboo. The cars are adorned with a golden emblem of the mythical Lac bird, which also appears on the D-pillars and the rear emblem. The Lac Hong inscription on the rear doors is made of a genuine golden alloy. The 900S sedan has an extended wheelbase and a sculpted profile with aluminum accents, while the 800S crossover follows the straight-lined, powerful proportions characteristic of Rolls-Royce.

Luxurious Interior with a Focus on Rear Passengers

The cabin of both models combines wood inserts, Nappa leather, and golden elements. The dashboard integrates a single display for instruments and the multimedia system. Special attention in the 900S sedan is given to rear passengers: it offers seats with a “zero-gravity” function, automatic power doors, an entertainment system with projection, and a sophisticated work desk. Also present are a roof panel with a starlight effect and warm ambient lighting.

Technical Equipment and Market Prospects

The cars will be equipped with a triple electric motor setup producing 617 hp, providing all-wheel drive. Details about battery capacity and range have not been disclosed yet. VinFast promises a completely new fully active suspension for exceptionally comfortable and stable driving. The models will also receive advanced intelligent systems and a comprehensive safety suite.

These electric vehicles are scheduled for release in 2027. The price remains a secret for now, but it is obvious that they will be significantly more expensive than the brand’s main models.

Interior and exterior of VinFast Lac Hong

In addition to traditional European luxury brands, the Lac Hong lineup will have to compete with Chinese manufacturers, such as Maextro with Huawei’s support, which offer similar presence and technologies at potentially more competitive prices.

Entering the ultra-luxury segment is a bold but logical step for VinFast in its global strategy. This allows the brand not only to elevate its image but also to attract the attention of an international audience that values exclusivity and innovation. The success of these models will depend not only on the quality of execution and technical characteristics but also on the company’s ability to create a compelling brand story and establish service that meets the expectations of the most demanding clients. The high-end electric vehicle market continues to grow, opening new opportunities for bold players.
