by The National Police has received new powers allowing it to combat non-customs cleared cars. The relevant resolution was adopted by the Cabinet of Ministers.
The expansion of the National Police’s powers was discussed by MP Vasyl Mokhan. Regarding cars with Euro plates, the following actions are now permitted:
- to locate vehicles brought into Ukraine for more than 30 days that are not registered by Ukrainians within the legally established deadlines;
- to take measures to identify cases of unlawful operation of vehicles subject to restrictions imposed by the Customs Code;
- to identify and prevent unjustified disassembly of such vehicles.
Thus, the police will now be able to locate non-customs cleared cars that have violated the periods of stay in Ukraine. Recall that owners in this case face a fine of up to 170,000 UAH and confiscation of the vehicle.
