One of the most interesting joint projects in the industry will start its work in less than four months after the announcement of its organization. The headquarters of the Bugatti Rimac joint venture will be located in Sveta Nedelja (Croatia).
The shareholders of the company will be Rimac Group (55%) and Porsche AG (45%). Under the umbrella of the joint venture, Bugatti and Rimac Automobili brands will continue to operate as independent brands and manufacturers, maintaining their factories in Zagreb and Molsheim and their distribution channels.

The former CEO of Bugatti, Stephan Winkelmann, left his position by October 31, 2021. Winkelmann will focus his attention on the role of president of Lamborghini. The new leadership team includes Christophe Piochon, the former production manager and co-manager of Bugatti Automobiles, alongside Mate Rimac.
At Porsche, the creation of the joint venture is called “Operation Breakthrough.” For the future CEO Mate Rimac, the creation of the Bugatti Rimac joint venture is another big step – just 10 years after he founded his startup in a garage.

“It’s hard to find a more successful combination than Rimac and Bugatti. Rimac’s dynamic activities and electrification expertise perfectly complement the exceptional traditions and craftsmanship typical of Bugatti. We truly have unique projects waiting for us in the future.”
A move to the new Rimac campus, currently under construction, is planned for 2023. There, joint research and development departments will be located. The campus, covering a total area of 200,000 square meters and costing 200 million euros, will employ 2,500 people. Meanwhile, all Bugatti models will continue to be produced at the manufacturing plant in Molsheim.
