The Trasco company from Bremen has long been known for its armored cars. Typically, the German craftsmen modify Mercedes, BMW, Audi, and Lexus, but now they have taken on the Aston Martin DB11 coupe.
Perhaps this is the world’s first armored supercar. After all, very few armored vehicles have a 5.2-liter V12 twin-turbo engine with 608 hp under the hood.
The Aston Martin supercar is protected to B4 standard, meaning it can withstand shots from a handgun or shotgun. Interestingly, the armor increased the weight of the Aston Martin coupe by only 150 kg. Therefore, the difference with an unarmored car would be noticeable only on a racetrack.
The car was protected with ballistic steel and composite materials. In addition, the thick bulletproof glass, without window frames, is clearly visible in the photos.
The armored Aston Martin DB11 was created to show that the new lightweight armoring technology is applicable to almost any car, including sports cars.
