by The new Mercedes-Maybach S-Class 2021 lineup has been expanded with the top-end S680 model. From the summer, the luxurious sedan will go on sale at a price of over 200 thousand euros, making it the most expensive Maybach of 2021. Surprisingly, the flagship was introduced quietly – without fanfare.
The new Mercedes-Maybach S680 finally received a six-liter V12 and will be the only S-Class with this engine – neither the Mercedes S600 nor the S65 AMG will be available. The engine is familiar, developing 630 hp and 1000 Nm of torque, but for the first time, it is offered with all-wheel drive.
Otherwise, there are no differences from the “junior” versions of Maybach – the same grille, the same chrome wheels. So far, it is the longest Mercedes S-Class W223 – 5469 mm in length with a wheelbase of 3396 mm, although a Pullman limousine will surely appear later.
Of course, the interior features separate rear seats with electric adjustment, ventilation, massage, and retractable footrests. They are separated by a console with a refrigerator and a touchscreen for controlling audio, climate (it is four-zone here), and tablet menus in the backrests of the front seats.
