The company Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus became famous for its supercars SCG 003. Now the Americans have decided to build a fast sports off-roader.
The owner of SCG, James Glickenhaus, is very fond of Steve McQueen’s Baja Boot buggy and even bought this car for his very cool collection. Now he has taken to creating a modern variation of the off-roader.
The new SCG Baja Boot stands out with its unusual design in the style of its famous predecessor.
However, the modern car still features windows and swing doors in the style of the Toyota FJ Cruiser. Incidentally, there’s also a shortened two-door version.
It’s surprising that the off-roader is mid-engined. The supercharged 6.2-liter V8 LT4 from the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 develops 650 hp. This means that the Baja Boot can compete with the Lamborghini Urus, although it is likely lighter than the Italian.
The off-roader will participate in the Baja 1000 races, and the first series of 17 cars has already been confirmed. The price of the SCG Baja Boot is $287,500, and for an additional $166,750, the car is armored to B6 standard. So, it will also be able to challenge the formidable Rezvani Tank.
