The head of state announced his decision on Facebook and noted that Yuzhanina’s laws were the result of a difficult compromise. During the transition period, the funds from the customs clearance of Euro-blah cars will replenish the Pension Fund. Let us remind you that law 8487 establishes new rules for calculating excise duty on cars.

It will be calculated using the formula: base rate multiplied by the coefficients of volume (in liters) and age (in years, but no more than 15 even for cars older than 15 years). The President signed Yuzhanina's laws on customs clearance of cars with Euro plates

For gasoline vehicles, the base rate is 50 euros, for diesels – 75 euros. If the engine volume is over 3.5 liters, then 100 and 150 euros, respectively. In the first 90 days, there will be a 50% discount. Meanwhile, law 8488 toughens the penalties for violating rules of transit and temporary importation.

If overdue by 20 days, the fine will be 85,000 hryvnias, and for 30 or more days – 170,000 hryvnias. If the owner imported a used car into Ukraine and transferred it to another person, they will have to pay 34,000 hryvnias.
