by In Ukraine, the Law ‘On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine Regarding the Simplification of Pre-trial Investigation of Certain Categories of Criminal Offenses’ has been published. It comes into force on January 1, 2020. 
The law introduces a new category of criminal misdemeanors. These are violations for which punishments not related to imprisonment are provided. Their investigation will be conducted in a simplified manner and in expedited terms.
Criminal misdemeanors also include driving a vehicle while intoxicated. Recall that the fine for drunk driving in Ukraine ranges from 17 to 51 thousand hryvnias and is accompanied by the revocation of driving rights for up to 3 years.
