In 25 years, Audi A8 never got a super powerful RS version. However, they planned to create one and even made a prototype Audi RS8. No one knew about this until recently when the unique car was shown to the public at the Audi charged car exhibition.
The one-of-a-kind Audi RS8 sedan was created in 2013 based on the previous generation car. Like all RS-labeled modifications, it features a wide grille, body kit, and extended fenders.
It also has 20-inch wheels installed.
The interior is finished with leather, Alcantara, and carbon. Naturally, the charged Audi sedan got sports seats and a flat-bottom steering wheel. The engine start button is styled like a Lamborghini.
It is known that under the hood of the Audi RS8 hides a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8.
Its power is unknown, but it is clearly more than 520 HP – which was the output of the most powerful Audi S8 Plus. Rumors suggest about 560 HP, like in the Audi RS7.
Audi does not explain why they never released the RS8. Perhaps, the company management feared low demand for the model, as even the S8 wasn’t selling very actively.
