Rare Mustang Shelby GT350 Was Almost Dismantled for Parts Sale (video)

A classic car hunter accidentally discovered a real treasure in an abandoned house. Matt Taylor saw an online ad for the steering wheel of a rare Shelby and, upon calling, he inquired if there were any other parts from the iconic 1965 Mustang. He was told that there was a whole pile of parts, but the car needed to be dismantled.

After hearing this, the retro car hunter rushed to the abandoned house, which, as it turned out, was inherited by the family of a deceased relative. Next to the house was a garage, the contents of which shocked Matt. Before him was the original Ford Mustang Shelby from the 60s – it had been immobilized in the garage for several decades, and the heirs wanted to ‘declutter’ it to sell it for parts, writes Fox News.

Despite the deplorable condition of the legendary pony car, Taylor carried out some minor engine manipulations and even started it! It ended with the car treasure hunter making a preliminary deal to purchase the rarity, which, even in such a state, is worth about $300,000, and in restored condition – more than half a million! However, Matt Taylor intends to buy and restore it for himself, not for sale.

And while such occurrences are extremely rare in our region, even here, sometimes a real treasure on wheels is found. Just remember the post about abandoned and forgotten supercars in Ukraine.
