The car from another era may look vintage, but in fact, it’s a 2021 model! The new Morgan Plus 4 is a reincarnation of the British roadster from the 1950s. The second generation Morgan Plus Four retains the architecture of its 70-year-old ancestor but received modern technical components.
The unique hand-built car was recently brought to Ukraine at the request of a Kiev connoisseur. Who he is – the story doesn’t tell. However, without a doubt, this Kiev resident has a discerning taste in cars, as Morgans are very exotic vehicles, especially in our country.
According to Topgir, the number of Morgan cars in Ukraine totals 14 units. Among them, there is a Kiev Morgan Aero, the seized Morgan of David Zhvania, and a couple of Morgan Aero SuperSports (only 200 units were produced worldwide!). It’s worth mentioning the only Morgan Plus 4 Four Seater from 2007 in Ukraine and a Morgan 4 (presumably owned by the Dnipro’s mayor).
As for this particular specimen, it’s a novelty that has lost its mid-20th-century steel chassis, replaced by an aluminum platform CX. The Morgan Plus Four model also has a new engine – a 2-liter BMW turbocharged four-cylinder. Although the car seems as old as before on the outside, according to the British, the latest generation Plus Four consists of 97% new parts. The only thing that was retained is the ash wood frame around the passenger cell, although it has also been improved.
