New Project from the Luxury Brand
Rolls-Royce has always been skilled at creating intrigue, and tomorrow the brand will show the world a new project it has been working on. Ahead of the premiere, the company released several teasers that give an idea of what to expect. If the silhouette is accurate, then most likely we are looking at a new convertible with an astronomical price tag.
Dramatic Design
The image published on social media shows a convertible with a long hood, a low stance, a heavily raked windshield, and a short rear end. It looks much more dramatic and exotic than the Dawn ever did, and its proportions immediately recall the incredibly expensive custom Droptail and Boat Tail projects.
A quote from Sir Henry Royce also doesn’t lower expectations: “Take the best that exists and make it better. When it does not exist, design it.”
The teaser was first noticed by The Supercar Blog, which suggested it could be a convertible based on the Spectre. While anything is possible, overlaying the Spectre’s silhouette onto this teaser doesn’t look perfect.

Electric Future and Shared Architecture
Both ends of the car appear to have a different design than the Spectre. The rear end is particularly reminiscent of the Droptail. At the same time, Rolls-Royce has already confirmed that the first model in the new Coachbuild collection, premiering this month, will be fully electric. Therefore, it is quite likely that the two models will share much in terms of architecture, and perhaps Rolls-Royce will name it the Spectre Drophead.
Return of the Open Top
If this happens, it will mark the return of a Rolls-Royce open-top for the first time since the Dawn model was discontinued in 2023. It will also be the brand’s first electric convertible, combining a silent electric powertrain with the ability to drive with the top down—something that suits Rolls better than any other car.

Exclusivity at an Extreme Price
The latest custom special projects from Rolls-Royce have been not just expensive, but astronomically expensive. The Droptail is reported to have cost over $30 million, with only four units produced. So if you were hoping for a regular production convertible to slot below the Spectre, it’s worth tempering your expectations.
We will find out for sure tomorrow. And for now, Rolls-Royce has managed to do exactly what it wanted: make everyone guess what is hiding under that fabric.

The anticipation surrounding the new model underscores Rolls-Royce’s strategy of creating unique, almost unattainable cars that are more than just a means of transportation. They are objects of art and engineering that define new standards of luxury. The shift to electric propulsion for such exclusive projects is a logical step, as it combines the brand’s traditional silence and smooth ride with modern technology. Whether it will be a production model or another custom masterpiece, the new release will undoubtedly push the boundaries of the premium automotive market.
