Slovaks Shocked by Cemetery of Non-Customs Cleared Cars from Ukraine

Customs clearance under the new rules is beneficial, of course, not for everyone, and increased fines are not what owners of Euro plate cars want to pay. As a result, near the borders with Ukraine, entire cemeteries of non-customs cleared cars form in neighboring countries.

Similar spontaneous dumps have already been noticed in Poland and Hungary, and now Slovak television has reported on a similar cemetery.
Four dozen cars with Slovak, Czech, Polish, and even British plates are abandoned near the Malyy Berezny-Ublia border crossing.

Interestingly, some of them are parked in local residents’ yards. The locals agreed to set up parking, believing the cars would only be there for a few days.
There are several versions for the appearance of the dump. It is quite possible the cars were abandoned not permanently, but for the duration of a trip to Ukraine. After all, their owners live in Europe and use the cars there.

Or drivers of Euro plate cars are waiting for additional concessions from the authorities to customs clear their cars at a lower cost.
