Special Maserati GT2 Stradale Version Honors Formula 1 Legend

Maserati GT2 Stradale gets a special livery in honor of the legendary 250F

The Maserati GT2 Stradale, a road-going supercar based on the GT2 race car, is already one of the brightest vehicles in the Italian brand’s lineup. Now the company has introduced a special livery for it, inspired by the iconic Maserati 250F, which won two Formula 1 championships in 1954 and 1957.

Premiere at the Monza track

The new livery was unveiled last weekend during the first round of the GT2 European Series at the Monza circuit in Italy. In addition to the road-going GT2 Stradale, the one-of-a-kind Maserati GT2 race car is also finished in the same striking color combination.

Design details

At the front, the livery includes a bright yellow stripe running between the headlights, while most of the bodywork is finished in red. Maserati has also added a yellow Trident emblem on the front grille, as well as yellow Tridents just behind the side windows. Additionally, the badge on the rear of the GT2 Stradale is also yellow.

Inspiration from a legend

Juan Manuel Fangio helped the Maserati 250F become a royal car in the world of motorsport. In addition to the two Formula 1 titles won behind the wheel of this car, the Argentine driver also won races in Belgium, Monaco, France, and Argentina. Sir Stirling Moss also piloted the 250F to victories in Italy and Monaco in 1956, and in 1958, this same car became the one with which Maria Teresa de Filippis became the first woman to qualify for a Formula 1 Grand Prix.

Exact replica

The 250F livery has been meticulously replicated on the GT2 Stradale. As on the 250F, the GT2 Stradale also features a large white number “1” on the front wing on the passenger side.

Availability and price

While Maserati states that this special livery will be available for individual orders on the GT2 Stradale model, the company has not specified whether it will be limited to a certain number of vehicles, nor has it disclosed its price. In any case, it is a great way to make your road-going supercar even more eye-catching.

This move by Maserati is not just a tribute to its own history, but also a powerful marketing strategy. The combination of modern engineering embodied in the GT2 Stradale with the classic design of the 250F creates an emotional link between the brand’s past and present. For collectors and enthusiasts, such a limited or individual livery can significantly enhance the car’s appeal, turning it into a true work of art on wheels. It is worth noting that such retro liveries often become objects of desire and can significantly impact a car’s value on the secondary market in the future.
