Top 10 Main Features of the New Toyota Land Cruiser 300

The world presentation of the Toyota Land Cruiser 300 took place yesterday, which we discussed in detail. Today, we offer you a look at 10 features of the new ‘Kukuruznik’, which will go on sale from August 2021. In Ukraine, it will likely be available for purchase a bit later.

10 Features of Land Cruiser 300

1. Land Cruiser will no longer have V8 engines. In Ukraine, a 3.5 liters twin-turbo gasoline engine with 415 hp and a diesel V6 3.3 (299 hp) will be available. It’s also worth noting that there will be a charged version of the Land Cruiser 300 GR Sport, which will be equipped with a boosted engine, but its power is still unknown.

2. Engines are paired solely with a 10-speed hydraulic automatic transmission.

3. The new Toyota Land Cruiser lacks air suspension; it now features either a regular spring suspension or spring suspension with adaptive dampers.

4. The car retains its hydraulic power steering, with an electric motor on the steering column that is only engaged in specific situations, such as for lane keeping assistance.

5. The off-road version features three lockable differentials—two inter-axle (front and rear) and a central one. They can be locked in any combination. Base models have only one—the central differential.

6. The car has new LED headlights. In simple trims, they are reflective, with incandescent bulbs in the turn signals. Middle versions have projector LED headlights with automatic high beams and LED turn signals without ‘sequential turn’. Advanced trims feature matrix headlights with dynamic turn signals that automatically dim the areas where oncoming or preceding traffic is present, to prevent blinding drivers.

7. Adding equipment necessitated keeping the SUV’s weight within previous ranges. This was ‘saved’ by incorporating a lot of aluminum in the vehicle—the hood, front fenders, doors, and roof are made of it, and the frame is constructed using new technology with fewer welds and reinforcements.

8. Fuel tank capacity (both tanks) has decreased. Previously, their volumes were 90+45 liters, now they are 80+30 liters. However, according to the manufacturer, thanks to more economical engines, the range remains unchanged.

9. The rear door of the car is no longer split (it used to be two parts—with a lower shelf) but is now a solid structure that opens upwards with a power assist.

10. Remaining a serious off-roader (approach, departure angles, and ground clearance remain the same as on the ‘two hundred’, plus lockable differentials, various modes, etc.), the car, thanks to retuned suspension, modified damper settings, and numerous other enhancements, is likely to attract those who want a vehicle that handles well on asphalt.
