by Not so long ago, the American brand MOTHERS appeared in Ukraine, famous for its well-known headlight polish MS08808 and metal paste MS05100. But today’s note is about the carnauba wax with clay, a unique product by the company for cleaning and protecting car bodies, MS05500.
Natural Carnauba wax is quite rare and is usually presented mainly in products with synthetic additives. This is not surprising because the essence of Carnauba is that it is wax that the palm tree secretes to protect the tree trunk in both dry and wet weather, at any time of the year. And such palms do not grow in China, Russia, Ukraine, Europe. That is why real Brazilian Carnauba wax can only be found in the USA.
Yet, there are often jars of hard car wax on sale with the label “Carnauba”, Carnauba, which, when opened, immediately reveal that this is synthetic, not natural wax. It’s fairly simple to distinguish: natural hard wax cannot have a perfectly smooth consistency and has a specific odor, while synthetic wax often smells like banana, strawberry, and resembles jelly or cream in consistency, and is white in color.
Speaking of MOTHERS hard wax, this is adapted pure Carnauba for automobiles. In addition to pure hard Carnauba wax, MS05500 also includes cleansing clay. This has made it possible to create a one-step body treatment product, bypassing the polishing process, which not only protects the body but also cleans it of ingrained dirt during application. In practice, this means that after washing and drying the car, you can immediately start working with this hard wax, and it will eliminate all paintwork defects, make the surface perfectly smooth, clean deep impurities, and simultaneously preserve the body with a protective layer.
After treatment, the car’s surface parts will be perfectly smooth and shiny, with a protective water-repellent effect lasting 4-7 months (in practice, exactly half a year). Interestingly, synthetic wax also provides protection, sometimes even longer, but it practically gives no shine. In combination with car shampoo MS05676, if used once every 2 weeks, the body protection period will be longer. For additional protection and even more shine, you can use liquid wax MS22224.
How to use MOTHERS hard wax:
- Wash the car at a high-pressure car wash or manually;
- Dry the car’s body;
- Apply the wax to an applicator or microfiber cloth;
- Thoroughly polish the wax on the surface of the parts with 5-8 cm step circular motions; you can use an applicator or microfiber;
- Wait for the wax on the parts to dry;
- Wipe off the remaining wax with a microfiber towel or cloth, 7-10 minutes after application and polishing;
- Do not work on the surface under direct sunlight, as well as during rain or wind that can bring dust onto the body;
One jar of 340 g MOTHERS hard wax is enough for 10-20 applications, depending on how large the car is and how much wax you use. No need to use a lot of the product: just dip a microfiber into the wax and start treating the detail.
Taking wax “in large pieces” and rubbing them like a piece of soap into the surface – that’s what many novice detailers do, but it’s a mistake. The product is indeed quite economical.
