We all know well that the VAZ-2105 family includes a sedan and a station wagon, and there is also the VIS-2345 pickup. But few people know that there was once a Lada 2105 convertible. And it’s not a prototype or a homemade car, the model was actually produced.

This marvel is called the Bohse Eurostar and was assembled in Germany. Bohse was founded in 1987 and initially decided to make beach convertibles based on the Volkswagen Golf II.

But since their cost turned out to be too high, the company’s management decided to turn their attention to a more budget-friendly donor – the VAZ-2105. Bohse representatives even visited the plant in Tolyatti.

For the Bohse Eurostar, an angular fiberglass body was created, and only the grille with headlights and the windshield with metal roof pillars were taken from the VAZ-2105. The car didn’t even have doors – they were replaced by canvas curtains with windows. The roof was made removable, so technically it’s a targa.

Mainly, the VAZ 2105 convertibles were equipped with a 1.2-liter 60 hp engine and a 5-speed manual transmission. However, a 1.5-liter 70 hp engine and even a Volkswagen diesel were also offered.
