A brutal Chevrolet Suburban equipped with special tools like those of the US President’s motorcade was noticed on the roads of the capital. The SUV was photographed by a subscriber of the Telegram channel TopGir at one of the gas stations on the Boryspil highway.

According to the registration database, the massive Chevrolet Suburban was registered recently, in November 2021. Based on the data, the vehicle is not armored (weight – 2.6 tons) and was manufactured in 2011. It is worth noting that similar vehicles can be seen in the US President’s motorcade. And in this case, it doesn’t matter which (numbered) American president is being referred to.
According to the author of the photo, seeing this car, he was first interested in the “black buckets” on the roof. Initially, he took them for covered flashers, but that’s not the case. TopGir has already detailed what these black buckets on the cars of the Ukrainian elite are. But for those who are not familiar with the topic, we’ll briefly explain once more.

Various kinds of antennas and caps on the roofs of escort vehicles are there for a reason. Often, cars with such “decorations” can be seen in government motorcades, though criminal authorities (and not only) use them quite often as well.
It is sufficient to recall the motorcade of Yuriy Ivanyushchenko (known as Yura Yenakiyevsky) or the head of the DNR’s car with identical numbers.
Not so openly, but signal jammers and suppressors are also used in the motorcade of the richest person in Ukraine, Rinat Akhmetov. In fact, there are many different devices for vehicles initially intended for security forces (to ensure the protection of top state officials), but the most common is the “Pelena” complex. It’s hard to say for sure ( one needs to be a narrow specialist here), but a similar complex (or its equivalent) might be installed in the Chevrolet SUV seen near Kyiv.

Anyhow, these kinds of systems can cost more than the vehicle with “buckets” and antennas on its roof. For illustration, here is the cost of the “Pelena” complex and its functional capabilities:

It is also worth mentioning that often jammers, suppressors, secure communication devices, and anti-explosive devices for cars are installed on large vehicles. Why? It’s simple – what you see on the roof is just the “tip of the iceberg,” since the interior of the car can accommodate so much equipment that even a massive SUV like the Chevrolet Suburban might barely fit 3-4 people. The remaining space can easily be allocated for special equipment devices.

It is not specifically known who/which person(s) this Chevrolet is supposed to protect – it remains to wait for its appearance in a motorcade. After all, at the time of filming, the vehicle was empty and there were no bodyguards around – meaning, it was “not on duty” then.
