At the Concours d’Elegance retro show in Pebble Beach (USA), the long-awaited hypercar SSC Tuatara was presented. Work on the super-fast car lasted about eight years. 
The American hypercar is equipped with a 5.9-liter V8 twin-turbo engine, producing 1350 hp on gasoline and 1750 on ethanol. With a 7-speed robotic transmission, acceleration to 100 km/h takes about 2.5 seconds, and the theoretical maximum speed exceeds 480 km/h. So, before us is another contender for the title of the fastest car in the world.
The SSC Tuatara is 4429 mm long, 1991 mm wide, and only 1092 mm high. The hypercar weighs only 1247 kg due to the active use of carbon fiber. Even the 20-inch wheel rims are carbon. 
The car has excellent aerodynamics: its drag coefficient is 0.279, which is lower than its main competitors Bugatti Chiron and Hennessey Venom F5. A total of one hundred SSC Tuatara cars are planned to be produced.
The cost of the car has not yet been disclosed, but its predecessor, the SSC Ultimate Aero, is sold at a very attractive price.
