Opel in Ukraine expects a reboot this year. As is known, the German brand has become part of the PSA Group, and now its official importer is the company ‘Peugeot Citroën Ukraine’.
Plans for 2019 include a radical increase in Opel sales in Ukraine by 5 times – from 227 to 1100 cars. By the end of the year, they plan to open 11 new Opel centers.
Sales are planned to be increased, primarily due to two new crossovers.
The new Opel Crossland X replaces two models at once – Mokka and Meriva. It measures 4.2 meters in length and features a fresh youth-oriented design. Model features include adjustable rear seats and a spacious 520-liter trunk.
The Opel crossover will be offered with a 1.2-liter 110-horsepower gasoline turbo engine and a 6-speed automatic transmission. The price of the Opel Crossland X is 519-570 thousand hryvnias.
Higher in the hierarchy is the Opel Grandland X crossover, which ‘Peugeot Citroën Ukraine’ calls the brand’s future bestseller. It is similar to the Crossland X but larger – 4.5 meters in length.
The new Opel Grandland X will be equipped with a 1.5-liter 130 hp turbo diesel. The version with a 6-speed manual transmission will cost 668 thousand hryvnias, and the version with an 8-speed automatic will be priced between 728 and 821 thousand.
The Opel Insignia has also been ‘relaunched’ in Ukraine.
The flagship model will be offered with a 1.5-liter 165 hp gasoline turbo engine and 2.0-liter turbo engines with 170 and 210 hp. The most powerful variant will be available with all-wheel drive.
The brand’s plans for 2019 include the presentation of the new Opel Combo and Zafira Life, as well as updated Opel Astra hatchback and station wagon.
