by Mercedes-Benz celebrated the release of the 500-thousandth example of the legendary G-Class (also known as Gelandewagen, Gelik, Gelik, Cube, Cubic). The anniversary car was made in the style of the 280 GE from 1986, although the first one actually appeared in 1979.
The anniversary model is a sample of the modern consumer range W463-II, which has been produced since 2018 and has nothing in common with the original G-Class. However, the 500-thousandth car was maximally styled like the classic “Gelik” — it received a khaki-colored body, black grille, headlight “glasses”, body kits, spare wheel cover, orange turn indicators, and 5-spoke wheel rims.
The interior features fabric seat upholstery with a checkered pattern and the marking No. 500 000 on the passenger door handle. Can it be bought? Of course not. It’s a museum piece. But you know, the Germans will surely come up with something to please the customers and make some profit themselves…
