Volodymyr Zelensky advocates for a second extension of the transition period for cars with foreign plates by another 90 days. This was reported by the Deputy Head of the President’s Office, Ruslan Riaboshapka, according to TSN.
According to him, the huge fines for uncustomized cars will be postponed for 90 days to allow the Verkhovna Rada to finally thoroughly resolve this issue. The parliament intends to prepare and pass a new bill on cars with foreign plates. Ruslan Riaboshapka emphasized that this initiative aims to improve the observance of people’s rights and strengthen the fight against corruption.
Moreover, not all owners of cars with foreign plates have customized them. According to estimates by the Ministry of Infrastructure, 600-800 thousand cars with foreign plates are still driving in Ukraine.
