Limited Edition Ford Everest Wildtrak Returns to Australia
The Australian market will once again have the opportunity to purchase a special version of the Ford Everest SUV in the Wildtrak trim. This time, the manufacturer will release a strictly limited batch — only one thousand vehicles. This model, built on the Ranger pickup platform, has received a number of updates, including matrix LED headlights and a panoramic sunroof.
What’s New in the Special Edition?
The new batch will differ from the previous limited releases of 2023 and 2025. The signature Ignite Orange color has replaced the previous Luxe Yellow, aligning with the updated Ranger Wildtrak. The exterior is also adorned with glossy black accents and 20-inch alloy wheels with orange inserts. For those planning serious off-road adventures, a free option is available — a set of smaller 18-inch wheels with all-terrain tires.
Luxury and Technical Interior Equipment
The interior features seats with leather upholstery, orange stitching, and Wildtrak embroidery. Standard equipment now includes premium features from the top Platinum trim. In addition to the aforementioned matrix headlights and panoramic sunroof, this also includes ambient lighting and a power-folding function for the third-row seats.
The Heart of the SUV — a Powerful V6 Diesel
Under the hood of the Everest Wildtrak works a 3.0-liter turbo-diesel V6 engine. Its power is 247 horsepower, and torque is 600 Nm. The power unit is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. It is worth noting that the smaller 2.0-liter bi-turbo diesel is no longer offered on the Australian market, so the V6 remains the only option for the entire Everest lineup.
The starting price for the new model is 79,990 Australian dollars, which exactly matches the cost of the Tremor version.
Pricing and Market Prospects
One thousand vehicles of the special series will arrive at Australian dealerships in the third quarter of 2026. The stated price is identical to the cost of the Tremor version, which has reinforced suspension but lacks some of the Wildtrak’s premium features. The most expensive model in the Australian lineup remains the Everest Platinum, with a starting price of 83,490 Australian dollars.
The appearance of such a model in North America is unlikely. This is traditionally explained by market factors: the availability of the three-row Explorer for family needs and the Bronco SUV for active recreation. Furthermore, customs tariffs and environmental standard requirements play a certain role. Thus, Ford currently does not see the need to invest in a direct competitor to the Toyota 4Runner in this market.
A limited release always creates additional hype around a model, especially when it combines exclusive design, powerful technical specifications, and elements of luxury. For Australian brand enthusiasts, this is a chance to get the most equipped version of a versatile family SUV, ready for both everyday city trips and long journeys off-road. Such decisions often indicate how automakers test demand and prepare the ground for potential global updates to the model range.
