Hyundai Venue gets ‘Knight Edition’ in India
Hyundai has introduced a special version of the Venue Knight Edition in the Indian market. This modification uses the popular technique of darkening exterior elements. The main surprise was the price: this special edition costs roughly half as much as the previous generation Venue, which is still sold in the US.
Second generation and design
The SUV is based on the second generation Venue, introduced in India at the end of 2025. The new model features a more squared-off silhouette, more pronounced body lines, a vertical front end, and updated LED lighting. Compared to the American version, the Indian Venue is taller and wider, with a slightly longer wheelbase, giving it a more solid appearance.
Features of the Knight Edition trim
The Knight Edition version features a darkened radiator grille, skid plates, roof rails, mirror housings, and 16-inch alloy wheels. Matte black Hyundai emblems complete the look, while red brake calipers add a sporty accent. It is worth noting that the changes are mostly cosmetic, without the more aggressive body kit found on the Venue N Line version.
Interior and equipment
The black styling continues inside the cabin with exclusive leatherette seat upholstery. To avoid monotony, Hyundai designers added a few brass-colored inserts on the dashboard and steering wheel.
The Knight Edition is offered in several trim levels, the equipment of which makes the old American version look outdated. The dual 12.3-inch curved displays of the second-generation Venue make the 8-inch touchscreen of the American model almost an anachronism. The equipment list also includes a surround-view camera, an integrated dash cam, a sunroof, reclining rear seats, rear sunshades, and a premium Bose audio system with eight speakers.

Engines and performance
Under the hood, buyers can choose from three non-electrified powertrains. The base naturally aspirated 1.2-liter gasoline engine produces 82 hp, the turbocharged 1.0-liter gasoline engine boosts power to 118 hp, and the 1.5-liter diesel generates 114 hp. For comparison, the turbocharged 1.6-liter engine of the American version of the Venue produces 121 hp.
Price and availability
The 2026 Hyundai Venue Knight Edition is already available for order in India at a price starting from 9.70 lakh rupees ($10,400). This is roughly half the starting price of the American Venue, which costs $20,550 and continues to be produced in the first generation.
Even in the top trim, the Knight Edition remains relatively affordable, maxing out at 14.79 lakh rupees ($15,840). The most expensive Venue in India remains the sportier N Line version, which slightly exceeds this mark, reaching 15.48 lakh rupees ($16,500). This highlights how aggressively the Knight Edition is positioned within the overall lineup.
Such a pricing strategy is interesting because the Indian version, being the newer generation, offers significantly more modern equipment at a much lower price. This may indicate different strategies for Hyundai in different markets, where in the US they focus on a higher-margin product, and in India, on sales volumes. It is also worth noting that the absence of hybrid or electric versions in the lineup could be a drawback amid growing demand for eco-friendly cars, although this is still common practice for the budget segment.
